West Georgia Crane and Rigging Company Announces Historical Expansion in Response to Industrial Trends in the South

Associated Industrial Riggers Corp. announces purchase of new cranes and addition of leadership team to launch their new and expanded crane service line.

Bremen, Ga – (October 4, 2021) Associated Industrial Riggers Corp. is a leading U.S. industrial rigging and crane rental servicer with the capability to engineer turnkey plant relocations and machinery moves for construction, manufacturing, and industrial projects, today announced it has expanded its southern operations by increasing their crane equipment fleet and hiring the most experienced crane support team in the region.

The Company has appointed Wayne Cummins as VP Cranes and Rigging, Dustin Spates as Southern Service Manager and brought on Larry Freckmann as Sales Partner. The trio of highly experienced crane industry professionals will now be combined into leading the expanded service line for the west Georgia company.

Wayne Cummins is a 30-year veteran of the crane industry. Cummins brings over 17 years of crane management to lead the team as VP of Crane and Rigging. Dustin Spates is known as one of the most talented service managers in the industrial industry and Freckmann has led crane sales and management for over 40 years mostly in the Greater Atlanta area.  The team will focus on serving customers in their home region of west Georgia and east Alabama but will give extra focus on the industrial booming areas of the Greater Atlanta metro area and surrounding regions including Dalton, Rome, and Cartersville to the north, Lagrange, Newnan, Peachtree City, and McDonough to the south and Social Circle, Covington and Conyers to the east.

As industry continues to flood the southern base, the crane industry is seeing unprecedented job opportunities. Cranes are one of the most essential pieces of equipment when setting up a new plant or installing new equipment and finding experienced crane operators is extremely rare.  With the industrial growth booming in the southern states, many companies are having to wait weeks for access to the equipment, such as cranes, they need for loading and unloading large equipment. In addition to the new management team, the company has purchased new cranes, opened a maintenance shop, and hired several crews of knowledgeable, experienced NCCCO certified operators with experience to perform the work.

“With the addition of our new equipment and new leadership, our crane service is now set to elevate our turnkey services for our clients to handle the biggest and most complex projects in a timely manner.  As Georgia and Alabama industrial communities expand, our goal is to continue to advance and grow our business by expanding our geographic reach, enhancing our competitive advantage, and strengthening our service chains. Our recent expansion of team members and equipment will put us in the top tier of servicers in the south,” said Wayne Cummins, the newly appointed VP Cranes and Rigging.

Founded in 1982, the Syracuse, NY based company established a southern presence in west Georgia over 16 years ago.  Associated Industrial Riggers Corp. is a second-generation family rigging business that is known nationally for their reputation of plant relocations, industrial maintenance support services, rigging and fabrication.  Over the last 40 years, the company has focused on providing quality machine moving and industrial services at competitive prices by sustaining their leadership in safety records and customer service.  Their current safety EMR is .78, which consistently outperforms industry standards. The company maintains multiple service locations which allows their customer base to take advantage of strategic geographic locations.  In west Georgia, the company maintains a fully staffed fabrication shop, certified rigging and crane operations teams, an equipment maintenance shop and has significant warehousing space available to customers in multiple states.  The company has 70 employees and services all levels of industrial and construction customers.

“In the last few years, we have watched many companies in our industry become job specific and reduce their turnkey services.  In response to our customer’s needs, we have focused on expanding our lines to provide turnkey services including this expansion of our crane division. This is just one of the ways we are investing into our company to provide our customers the best service in the market at reduced costs,” said Jerry Sanders, CEO/Chairman.

With manufacturing and industrial construction continuing to remain steady, Associated Industrial Riggers is excited to have the infrastructure and the management team to meet the growing customer demand in the southern region.
