March Business Spotlight - Trillium Vineyard

The Greater Haralson Chamber proudly presents our March Business Spotlight - Trillium Vineyard!

We interviewed Bruce Cross to learn more about Trillium Vineyard.

Tell us about your business.
Karen and Bruce planted a vineyard in March 2013 with 4 varieties of grapes.  We began building the winery and tasting room shortly thereafter.  We opened the tasting room in August 2017 and have thoroughly enjoyed visiting with our patrons.  In addition to tastings, we serve wine by the glass or bottle to be enjoyed on the premises.  If you can't stay and visit, then you can take bottles of wine with you to be enjoyed elsewhere.  We host numerous events that are both educational and fun.  We enjoy hosting various food trucks on Friday nights and live music on Saturday nights.  More information can be found here:  trilliumvineyard.com.

How long have you been in business?
We started the business in March of 2013 and have been serving wine to customers since August 2017.

Why did you choose Haralson County for your business?
Karen was reared in Bremen, attended Bremen High School and after some time away while on Bruce was on active duty in the Navy and working elsewhere we came back to Bremen to live on a small farm where we started Wake Robin Alpacas and eventually established Trillium Vineyard.

Tell us something we may not know about your business.
Karen and I thoroughly enjoy the process of making wine which is likely derived from our background as compounding pharmacists.   What better way to employ our background in chemistry, microbiology, pharmaceutical calculations, and customer service than making and serving wine.  We have a fairly unique way of serving tastings using a metal tree and providing all the tastes as a flight so patrons can have all the samples in front of them at one time.  That way they are better able to compare and contrast the wines allowing them to better zero in on their favorite.

Tell us your favorite wine & why?
That is like asking which of your children is your favorite.  Each wine has a different flavor profile and fits into a special niche. Whether one is sipping it, while sitting in the rocking chair on the back porch or enjoying a glass or two while eating your favorite cuisine with family and friends.
