Comcast's Rural Broadband Demonstration Project Announcement

On Friday, June 12th, Comcast took over Head Avenue in Tallapoosa, GA to make their big announcement. After the persistence and hard work of Tallapoosa City Manager - Phillip Eidson, Jaeson Smith, Haralson County School District's Assistant Superintendent - Dr. Brian Ridley, and Greater Haralson Chamber President/CEO - Eric McDonald, Comcast committed to upgrade their current footprint with a 2.1 Million investment. The current footprint starts in Waco and continues west on Hwy 78 to Downtown Tallapoosa. 

Guests in attendance: Comcast Senior Vice President - Jason Grumbs, Georgia Lieutenant Governor - Geoff Duncan, Georgia Speaker of the House - David Ralston, Georgia House Representative - Rick Jasperse, Georgia State School Superintendent - Richard Woods, GA Department of Community Affairs Commissioner - Christopher Nunn, U.S. House Representative - Drew Ferguson, Director of Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety - Allen Poole, Georgia Public Service Commission Chairman - Chuck Eaton,  along with local elected officials, local business owners, and community leaders.
