It can be confusing to know where to turn for help for your child. It can also be hard to sort through all of the different therapists available and to know which one might be trained and equipped to best help you and your child.
Just like there are medical specialists (cardiologists, anesthesiologists, neurologists), there are Specialty Therapists.
I am a specialist in child and adolescent mental health, known as a Play Therapist.
This specialty required that I complete two additional years of education and residency specifically in Play Therapy, the model of therapy that is developmentally appropriate for kids and teens. My training in Play Therapy is well-beyond the training and education of what is required to be a licensed therapist.
I am a Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor and I am Board Certified as a Play Therapist / Supervisor and Board Certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional. I am also Board Certified as an Addiction Counselor and Clinical Supervisor.
I specialize in helping kids who are struggling with divorce, upsetting events, traumatic experiences, parent-child relationship problems, grief and loss, stress, and anxiety.
