Join us for a ribbon cutting at Lutheranch Camp & Conference Center!
Did you know that there is a brand new, fabulous retreat center open in Tallapoosa? Lutheranch Camp and Retreat Center officially opened its doors for guests in August of 2017 and is a perfect setting for your next spiritual retreat, professional development workshop or conference, team-building seminar, or reunion.
The land for Lutheranch was purchased in 2007. It is one of four camp and conference centers owned by NovusWay Ministries, Inc set in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. NovusWay began as summer camps for youth, and now serves all ages year round, with a special emphasis on renting facilities to groups for their events. The NovusWay conference centers welcome and serve not only congregations and individuals from the Evangelical Lutheran Church, but guests from other churches, schools, businesses, and individuals. Joy Coe, Sales and Marketing Associate for Lutheranch says, “We are so excited about opening Lutheranch and becoming part of the Tallapoosa community.”
Lutheranch has beautiful rolling hills, two small lakes, and a picturesque creek. This newly-acquired site is still under development. Off-road biking and hiking trails are being developed and charted. Catch and release fishing is available in the stocked lakes. Plans for a recreation field are underway and one of the lakes is open for swimming and other water sports. In addition, Lutheranch offers a Group Interaction Course.
There are two retreat facilities at Lutheranch. The two story Holy Trinity House is the original home on the site and has been expanded and remodeled by NovusWay. It is a comfortable, eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom house sitting on a quiet lake. It sleeps 16-20 people. The house has two gathering areas, a screened-in porch, and a well-equipped kitchen where guests are welcome to prepare meals.
The brand-new, state-of-the-art McKanna-Sandrock Retreat Center serves groups of 20 to 80 adults or up to 100 youth who will enjoy fellowship and the comfort of the new 41-room facility. The McKanna-Sandrock Retreat Center offers full food service and a variety of meeting options. All meeting spaces include a screen or a white board and LCD projectors are available upon request.
John Schuerholz, former Atlanta Braves General Manager and President, who served as honorary chair for two capital campaigns for Lutheranch, said last summer when the new retreat center was officially complete, “One week ago I was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and it was a great honor, but this ranks right up there! When I walked into the McKanna-Sandrock Retreat Center, tears came to my eyes, and I’m privileged to have played a small part in this endeavor!”
The Haralson and Carroll County Chambers of Commerce invite you to the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at Lutheranch on Wednesday, February 21st at 12:00 PM. There will be a brief Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, followed by a reception with heavy hors d’oevres and site tours.
